by | Apr 24, 2024

“It takes the proverbial village to translate new technologies and knowledge into adoption,” said Sharlini Sankaran, Ph.D. , Director of External Partnerships at Duke University. “We’re very proud to be a part of the CROPS coalition that will bring inclusive perspectives to achieve transformational and sustainable change for our ag community.”

Duke University will be a part of a new project that brings together researchers, farmers, Ag Extension agents, and industry partners to address agricultural challenges in the face of changing, extreme climate conditions. The project, Climate-Resilient Opportunities in Plant Science (CROPS) will create an Ag-Tech corridor that will increase connectivity and reduce disparities in access to innovation and technologies. Sharlini Sankaran, Director of External Partnerships at OEP will represent Duke University on the Translation and Innovation pillar, and Lucia Strader, Professor of Biology serves as co-PI and on the Use-Inspired Research pillar of CROPS. Through over a year of working together, we have recognized what we can achieve when we leverage each other’s strengths, with each partner bringing unique experiences and perspectives to the table.
